Description

Ladwood Farm is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with later alterations and a facade from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of red and grey brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof. The building has a lobby-entry plan and is 1½ storeys high, topped with a hipped roof. There is a brick ridge stack towards the left end, which has a rectangular central flue and diagonally-set flanking flues, along with a small ridge stack at the right end.

The front of the farmhouse includes two flat-roofed three-light eaves dormers situated between the stacks, and on the ground floor, there are two three-light casements with segmental heads. Each stack has a half-glazed door with a segmental head. The building also features two flat-roofed porches supported by slender columns.

At the left end of the front elevation, there is a short single-storey brick wing that extends forward. This wing has a gabled plain-tile roof that matches the eaves and has a lower ridge than the main range. It includes a gable-end stack and a canted bay window on the right side, which has a twelve-pane central sash and eight-pane side-lights. Additionally, there is a two-storey rear addition on the left, with a brick ground floor and weatherboarded upper section, as well as a brick rear lean-to attached to the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
