Description
Ridge Farm Cottage is a house that dates from the early 17th century or earlier and was restored in the 1980s. The exterior is rendered, with the left gable end rebuilt using old red and grey bricks in Flemish bond. It has a plain tile roof, with the main range featuring two storeys and a short, likely slightly later wing that extends forward from the right end of the front elevation. The main range has a hipped roof with a gablet on the right, while the wing has a half-hipped roof at the front, lower eaves, and a slightly lower ridge than the main range. The wing also displays broadly-spaced close-studding in the half gable. There is a brick stack located on the rear slope of the roof towards the center of the main range. The fenestration is irregular, featuring two two-light casements—one at the left end of the main range and one in the half gable of the wing. A ribbed door is positioned towards the right side of the front gable end of the wing. At the rear, there is a brick lean-to that stops short of the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
