Description

This milestone, located on the north side of Eynsham Road in Cumnor, dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. It has a plain design with a plinth and a segmental top. The inscription reads "Witney/9/0xford/8". The road was turnpiked in 1812, as noted in the Turnpike Roads of Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire Information Sheet No. 5 from 1977.
