Description
Nobles Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 16th to early 17th century. It is built of uncoursed limestone rubble and features a gabled thatch roof, with a 17th-century brick ridge stack and a stone left end stack that has a dressed stone flue. The building has a three-unit through-passage plan and is one storey with an attic, displaying a three-window range. The front has a chamfered timber surround to a 20th-century door, with chamfered timber lintels above a small 19th-century two-light casement and a 20th-century one-light casement to the right. To the left, there is a timber lintel over a late 19th-century three-light casement with shutters, and two 19th-century dormer casements, one with two lights and the other with three. There is a similar through-passage doorway at the rear. To the left, there is a 18th-century service bay constructed of limestone rubble, topped with a gabled old tile roof. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
