Description
Dean Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. The front wing dates back to the late 13th century and was extended and remodeled in the late 17th to mid 18th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with squared dressings. It features a gabled roof covered with old tiles, while the front has a gabled roof made of stone slate. The left end stack is finished in 20th-century brick, and the right end external stack is made of 17th and 18th-century brick. The farmhouse is designed in an L-plan with a front right wing and has two storeys with a three-window range. There are timber lintels over a 20th-century door, a blocked door to the left, and 20th-century casements. The left side wall of the front wing has a late 13th-century two-light transomed window above a similar altered window. Inside, there is a late 17th to 18th-century roof. Historically, Dean Court was a grange of Abingdon Abbey.
