Description

This milestone, located on the north side of Eynsham Road in Cumnor, dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. It has a plain design with a segmental top and displays the distances to Witney (8 miles) and Oxford (9 miles). The road where it stands was turnpiked in 1812.
