Description
Woodend Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was extended and remodeled in the early 18th century. The right wing, originally timber-framed, is now constructed of coursed limestone rubble with squared quoins and dressings, while the right gable wall is rendered. The building features a gabled 20th-century tile roof with brick stacks at the ends and ridge. It has a two-unit and cross-wing plan, standing two storeys tall with a three-window range. The late 19th-century timber lintels are above a late 19th-century four-panelled door and 20th-century casements, with a blocked window situated above the timber porch. The left gable end includes a one-light window above a two-light reset 16th-century round-arched stone-mullioned window. The cross wing has a later 18th-century service bay made of stone at the rear. Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered beams throughout. The right cross wing contains a timber-framed partition, a queen-post roof, and a framed left side wall.
