Description

Toggs Cottage and Weevil Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into two houses. It likely dates from the late 17th century, with a 19th-century extension on the left and 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of brick and has a plain tile roof, along with brick stacks. It probably originally had a lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys high with a four-window range.

The central entrance features a 20th-century plank door with a tiled gabled open porch. To the right, there is another 20th-century plank door with a similar porch. The right side has two three-light leaded wooden casements with segmental brick heads, while there is a three-light leaded wooden casement to the left of the centre and two two-light casements to the left, all with segmental brick heads. The first floor has four three-light leaded casements. The roof is half-hipped to the left, and there are ridge stacks of 17th-century brickwork in the centre and to the left, with an end stack to the right that is probably from the 19th century. The right-hand return features timber-framing with brick infill and a Queen-post roof truss. The interior has not been inspected. The building was formerly known as Red Lane Cottages, located on Red Lane in Woodcote, within the Civil Parish of South Stoke, and was listed on 6 March 1975.
