Description
Payables Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, with a date of 1746 marked on the brick at the rear, and features alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of rendered brick and has a plain tile roof with brick stacks. It has a double depth plan and stands two stories tall, with an eight-window range. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with a fanlight above and a 20th-century arched hood supported by shaped brackets. To the left of the entrance are four 16-pane sash windows, while a 20th-century bow window on brackets is positioned to the right of the centre, along with another 16-pane sash window and a 20th-century sash door. The first floor features eight 16-pane sash windows. The rear elevation is made of red brick with random grey headers and has irregular fenestration, including a reset 17th-century window at the centre of the first floor. Inside, the dining room on the ground floor to the right has a chamfered spine beam and joists.
