Description
Carters Cottage is a 17th-century cottage, likely encased in the late 18th century, and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The main front of the cottage faces at a right angle to the street. It is a single-storey building with an attic, featuring a six-window range. A 20th-century glazed door is located to the left of the centre. There are three 20th-century two-light casement windows in the centre, a six-pane sash window to the right, and a 19th-century two-light casement window to the left. Two hipped dormers light the attic space. The ridge stack is made of 20th-century brick and is located on the right. Timber framing with brick infill is visible on the left-hand return and to the right of the rear. The cottage has three cruck timbers. The interior has not been inspected.
