Description
Checkendon Court is a country house dating from the 17th century, with extensions made by architect Guy Dawber in 1920. The building is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof with brick stacks. It has a complex plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a five-window range. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century oak ribbed door leading to a projecting single-storey porch, flanked by single 20th-century windows on either side. To the right, there is a three-light wooden mullion and transom window, while the first floor features five wooden mullion and transom windows. The attic is adorned with three cross-gables, each containing a single three-light wooden mullioned window. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
