Description

Nuthatch Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 15th century, with later encasement in the 18th century. The main front faces at right angles to the street. It is constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings and features an old plain tile roof with a brick stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a two-window range. There is a central 20th-century plank door, with 2-light casements on either side. The roof is half-hipped to the left and has a gabled dormer on the right, along with a central ridge stack. The left side facing the road has a brick and flint base, with a timber frame and brick infill on the first floor, which includes a 2-light casement. The original cottage likely contains fragments of earlier cruck trusses. The interior has not been inspected.
