Description

Christmas Cottage is a cottage dating from the 15th century, with alterations made in the 17th, 18th, and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame and rubble construction, topped with a half-hipped thatched roof. There is a brick stack located to the right of the center. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has a range of four windows. The 20th-century windows include two- and three-light casements with glazing bars. There are glazed doors in the end bay to the right and the second bay to the left, while the main front door is located in a 20th-century outshut on the left. A single dormer window is present in the roof.

Internally, the house was originally composed of three bays supported by two cruck trusses, which feature cambered collars; the eastern truss retains arch braces. The eastern bay of the original house has a floor dating to around 1600, which rests on stop-chamfered beams.
