Description
Pickets Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features timber framing with rendered infill and a thatched roof, complemented by a brick ridge stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan, is single storey with an attic, and consists of a two-bay range. There is a central half-glazed door from the 20th century leading to a 20th-century porch. The windows are irregularly arranged casements, and the roof is hipped with dormers at the rear. Inside, there is an original fireplace located on the ground floor to the right, and the ground floor has chamfered spine beams with ogee stops. The attic retains queen post roof trusses, along with most common rafters and wind braces.
