Description
Grove House and Grove House South is a farmhouse that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the late 17th century, with a mid-18th century addition on the right. The building features a stone uncoursed rubble plinth and red brick walls with flared headers arranged in Flemish bond. It has a stone slate roof, with a brick stack at the right end and a ridge stack to the left of center.
The main section is two stories high and has a three-window range. There is a two-panel door in the center, surrounded by a wood architrave and topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. All openings have 2-light casements with flat brick arches above them. A moulded brick band runs between the ground and first floors.
The addition on the right is also made of red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond and has a stone slate roof that is hipped to the right, with brick ridge stacks. This part is L-shaped, two stories tall, and has a four-window range. The ground floor on the left features two 2-light leaded casements, while the right side has three-light leaded casements on both the ground and first floors. The interiors have not been inspected.
