Description

Frogmore Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with timber lintels and features a concrete plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high. A broad door is located to the left of the centre, flanked by three-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors. The gable walls have chimney projections with tumbled brick weatherings and partly-renewed stone gable parapets. At the rear, there is a four-light wood mullioned window on the first floor, with a similar window below that is now internal.

Inside, the cottage features heavy chamfered and stopped beams on both floors. A central timber-framed cross partition survives upstairs and has an unusual moulded and carved jowl on the post. A broad staircase with winders leads up towards the entrance. To the left, there is a former pair of cottages from the 18th century that were thatched, which has been extensively remodelled and is attached by one corner.
