Description
South View is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features an old plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a central staircase plan and is two storeys high. The front has a symmetrical arrangement of three windows, a plinth, ashlar quoins, and a storey-band. There is a stone triangular-pedimented hood on brackets above a plank door, which has an eroded datestone above it. The openings are framed with ashlar surrounds and feature projecting key-blocks, with the door ribbed. The central window has a projecting surround and is partly built-up, while the other windows have 20th-century metal casements. Inside, a winder stair rises from a small hall, though the interior has not been inspected.
