Description
Peartree Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and a gable outshut on the right side. The front has three windows, with a 20th-century door set between four windows that have 20th-century frames, fletton jambs, and flat soldier lintels. On the first floor, there are two 18th-century two-light casements and a 12-pane sash window to the right. The gable outshut has a Welsh-slate roof. Inside, the cottage retains an intact floor structure with some chamfered and stopped beams, a staircase, and two open fireplaces with bressumers. There are additional fireplaces and some three-plank doors on the first floor. The building is incorrectly labeled as Tudor Cottage on the Ordnance Survey map.
