Description

Quainton's Cottage is a derelict house that was originally two cottages, dating from the early to mid-18th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled thatch roof with a brick ridge stack. It has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with a two-window range. There are two blocked doorways at the outer ends, and a 19th-century plank door is set between 20th-century windows, all topped by timber lintels. Inside, the cottage retains 18th-century ceiling joists.
