Description
Exeter Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid to late 17th century, with an extension added to the right in the early to mid 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features brick end stacks. It has an L-plan layout with a rear right wing that was extended to the right in the 18th century.
The front of the house, which is two stories high and has two windows, includes flat stone arches above a central 20th-century door and a late 17th-century four-light wood-mullioned window with leaded lights. There are timber lintels over similar windows on the first floor. To the right, there is an outshut with two 20th-century casements. To the left, there is a 19th-century one-storey service range. The 18th-century extension to the right has a roughcast first floor, a stair turret with a hipped roof, and a 17th-century two-light wood-mullioned window with leaded lights at the rear. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
