Description
The stable block, located approximately 30 meters east of the Manor House, dates from the 17th century and was altered in the 20th century. It is constructed from finely jointed coursed squared ironstone that approaches ashlar quality, topped with a slate roof and featuring ridge stacks. The building is a single storey plus loft and includes 3- and 4-light stone mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops. The stable entrance on the left has a cambered, chamfered stone head with a hood mould and label stop, leading to a plank door. Above the doorway, the loft has a coped gable adorned with a sundial and clock, and to the left, there is a weather-vane. The stable block also has 20th-century skylights. The interior has not been inspected. This structure is included for its group value with the Manor House.
