Description

April Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, located on The Green in Shenington with Alkeron. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone and has a steeply pitched thatched roof with a brick end stack. The cottage follows a two-unit plan and consists of a single storey with an attic. The central right-hand entrance has a plank door with a glazed light, a wood lintel, and a 20th-century hood. To the left of the entrance is a two-light wood mullioned window with a wood lintel. A single-storey addition, built of coursed rubble and with a corrugated iron roof, abuts the front on the left. A 20th-century extension is on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
