Description

No. 6 St John's Road is a church house, now used by St. John's school, dating from the early 19th century. It has a frontage to South Bar, featuring a brick front with limestone ashlar and slate roofs, along with rendered brick end stacks. The building is three storeys high and has a two-window range. The rusticated ground floor includes two bay windows with pilasters and sash windows. The first floor features two sashes with moulded stone surrounds and cornices, totaling four panes. The second floor has two additional sashes. There are pairs of flanking pilasters and a central pilaster extending through the first and second floors, along with a moulded chamfered eaves cornice.

The frontage to St. John's Road is brick, partly painted white, with a three-storey section on the left and two-storey and single-storey sections on the right. The left section has an entrance with an arched doorway and a patterned fanlight, as well as a blocked window to the left with a brick flat arch. The first floor has a blocked window and a sash with glazing bars that is three panes wide. The second floor features two blocked windows with brick flat arches and a rendered parapet. To the right, there are two-storey brick extensions, one of which has a ground floor sash window with glazing bars and two oriel windows on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
