Description
No. 21 Saint John's Street is a house dating from around 1840. It is constructed of red brick with some painted stone dressings and features a graded slate roof. The building has two storeys and includes a plinth with chamfered rustication, a moulded cill band on the first floor, and a dentil brick eaves cornice. There are integral brick end stacks and the façade is arranged in a 1:2 bay configuration, set back to the left. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with 16 panes on the ground floor, and they have painted stone cills and lintels. The central entrance features a 6-panelled door, where the lower two panels are flush and the upper two are glazed. This door is framed by an Ionic stone doorcase with unfluted three-quarter columns that support a frieze and a moulded cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
