Description

No 8 on St John's Street is an early 18th-century building, with its core likely dating back to the 17th century. It is constructed of painted brick and has two storeys. The façade features two sash windows with segmental heads and simple iron guards. There is a moulded wood doorcase supported by voluted brackets. To the left and right of the entrance, there are modern windows, with a projecting moulded wood cornice at the first floor. The building also includes one rusticated stone pilaster and an enriched Corinthian rainwater head. The parapet is topped with brick coping. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 7, 8, 10, 10A, 11, 15, and 16.
