Description
No. 15 Green End is a wing of a house dating from around the mid 18th century. It is built of brick with stuccoed dressings and features a gable-ended roof that is hidden behind a parapet. There is a brick chimney on the left gable end. The building is a projecting wing of a house from around 1700, which is No. 17 Green End. On the right side, there is a carriageway, and a shop front was added later on the left.
The exterior has two storeys. The ground floor includes the carriageway on the right, which has rusticated jambs and a segmental arch with voussoirs. On the left, there is a late 19th or 20th-century shop window. Above, there is a string course and rusticated quoins, with two first-floor windows that have moulded eared architraves featuring keyblocks and small console brackets supporting the cills, though these windows are from the 20th century. A modillion cornice and parapet sit above. Inside the carriageway, there is a fielded six-panel door.
The interior of the first-floor chamber boasts a fine chimneypiece and overmantel from around the mid 18th century, decorated in Rococo style, along with dado panelling. The suspended ceiling may be hiding a moulded plaster ceiling.
