Description
No. 4 Bullring is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with painted sandstone dressings. The roof is not visible from the road, and the building stands four stories tall. It features chamfered quoins and a moulded brick string course between the first and second-floor windows, which projects over the keystones and quoins. There is a plat band above the second-floor windows and a rebuilt parapet with moulded stone coping. The building has two bays, with early 20th-century boxed glazing bar sashes that have stone cills. The first and second-floor windows have gauged-brick heads and raised keystones. The shop front, added in the mid to late 20th century, consists of plate glass. A photograph from around 1900 shows that the building originally had early 18th-century wooden cross windows.
