Description
No. 12 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings and features a slate mansard roof. The building stands three storeys high with an attic, and it has chamfered stone quoins, a fascia, and a moulded wooden eaves cornice with modillions.
There are three gabled eaves dormers, which have likely been altered in the late 20th century, each containing two-light windows with moulded architraves. The façade consists of three bays with segmental-headed four-pane sash windows, which have stone cills and stone lintels adorned with raised keystones. The late 19th-century wooden shop front includes a pair of plate-glass windows, a central recessed 20th-century glazed door, and flanking panelled pilasters with a frieze and cornice.
