Description

Sitoni House is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features a plain tile roof. The building has three storeys and includes a plat band between the first and second floors, as well as a dentil brick eaves cornice. There is an integral brick end stack on the right side. The façade consists of three bays, with boxed glazing bar sash windows: 16-and 12-pane windows on the first floor, 6-pane windows on the second floor, and a tripartite window on the ground floor, all with slightly segmental heads.

The central entrance features an early 19th-century six-panelled door, where the lower two panels are beaded flush and the upper panels are raised and fielded. This door is framed by panelled reveals and soffit, and is set within a wooden doorcase that includes reeded quarter columns with horizontally-reeded capitals, panelled pilasters with moulded capitals, and an entablature that has a reeded band and a moulded dentil cornice, which breaks forward over the pilasters.

At the rear, there is a gabled two-storey wing with boxed glazing bar sash windows on each floor, and some timber framing that may have been reused. Inside, there is an early 19th-century dog-leg staircase with winders, a reeded closed string, stick balusters, and square newel posts with double-quirked beaded corners. An elliptical arch at the bottom of the stairs is flanked by reeded pilasters on square piers. The interior also features six-panelled doors with reeded reveals.
