Description
Exeter Cottage is a 17th-century house located on the east side of South Newington High Street. It is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a thatched roof with two brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The central panelled door is topped with a wooden lintel. To the left of the door, there is a three-light stone mullioned window with a hood mould and label stops. A slated circular bread oven projection is situated to the far left. In the attic, there is a two-light stone mullioned window with a metal casement and a wrought iron casement fastener. To the right, there is a single storey extension that has a Welsh slate roof and a two-light 20th-century stone mullioned window, also with a hood mould and label stops. The interior has not been inspected.
