Description
The Close is a 17th-century house, with a datestone indicating rebuilding in 1916. It is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched pantile roof with a brick ridge stack and stone copings. The house has a two-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic, with a two-window range. The ground floor includes two 3-light stone mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops, along with a small rectangular window in the centre that has stone surrounds and a hood mould. The attic features 2- and 3-light stone mullioned windows, also with hood moulds and label stops. The right end of the house has additional 2- and 3-light stone mullioned windows. Most windows are fitted with metal casements and wrought iron casement fasteners. The entrance is located at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
