Description

The Barn House is an early 18th-century house located on the east side of Green Lane, South Newington. The building is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble with a Welsh slate roof, brick end stacks, and stone copings to the left. It has dentilled eaves. The house follows a three-unit plan and is two storeys high with a four-window front. An off-centre doorway, set within a pedimented porch supported by wooden columns, features a 20th-century door. The doorway is flanked by two three-light casement windows with stone surrounds. To the right of the doorway is a three-light mullioned window with wooden lintels. The attic has three three-light casement windows to the left, fitted with wrought iron fasteners, and one two-light casement window to the right. The right-hand window is a three-light mullioned window with crown glass and a wooden lintel. The interior has not been inspected.
