Description
The Vicarage is a building dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century addition facing the road. The garden front features regularly coursed ironstone rubble and a steeply pitched stone slate roof laid in diminishing courses, with stone stacks at both ends and along the ridge. The structure has a two-unit plan with an extension to the right, standing two storeys plus an attic and displaying a two-window range. There are two doorways, one of which has a moulded stone surround. The ground floor includes two three-light stone mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops, while the first floor has two similar windows. The gabled attic dormers feature two-light stone mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops.
The right part of the building is a single-unit, single-storey structure. It has sash windows on the ground and attic floors, which are topped with stone lintels. The elevation facing the road includes the 19th-century part on the left, which has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, featuring a central door flanked by sash windows and three sashes on the first floor. The right part is from the 17th century, with a gabled slate roof and a stone end stack, also single-storey. The ground floor has 20th-century windows, while the attic features a three-light stone mullioned window with a hood mould and label stops. The right end has both two- and three-light stone mullioned windows. Inside, there is a four-centred stone doorway and a pointed arch stone doorway.
