Description

Springfield Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse situated on Baker's Lane in South Newington. The building is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble with a 20th-century tile roof and has three brick stacks on stone bases, positioned at the ends and along the ridge. It follows a three-unit plan with a four-window facade. On the ground floor, two tall two-light casements are located on the left, featuring stone sills and surrounds. To the right are two wood mullioned and transomed windows, also with stone surrounds. The first-floor windows mirror the ground-floor arrangement. A blocked two-light stone mullioned window, serving the cellar, is found on the right-hand side of the ground floor. The main entrance is located at the rear of the property. The interior has not been inspected.
