Description
The Swan Inn is a public house dating from 1681, as indicated by a datestone. It has been altered and extended in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features a concrete plain-tile roof with rebuilt brick stacks. It has a two-unit plan that extends to the rear and stands two storeys tall with attics. The front has two windows and a doorway located to the left of centre, flanked by 20th-century canted bay windows. The first floor retains 12-pane sash windows with chamfered lintels, along with the datestone inscribed "M/EE/1681." The roof has been slightly raised and includes a 20th-century dormer. There is a large early 20th-century wing at the rear, which is not of special architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
