Description

The Six Bells Inn is a public house dating to 1682, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble with wooden lintels, and has a concrete plain-tile roof with brick end stacks. The building originally comprised two units and has been extended to the rear. It has two storeys plus an attic, and a two-window front. A central doorway is enclosed by large, linked bay windows, which are probably of 19th-century origin but have been renewed. The first floor has short sash windows with four panes, and a central datestone inscribed "MI/1682." A steep-pitched roof features a central 2-light roof dormer with small panes. A wrought-iron sign bracket is present. The interior has not been inspected.
