Description

This is an 18th-century house, later altered in the early 19th and 20th centuries, and now incorporated into a convent. It is constructed of limestone rubble with brick dressings, and has a concrete roof covered in plain tiles, with rebuilt brick gable stacks. The house originally comprised two rooms, with a later rear wing added. The two-storey front has been raised to three storeys with the addition of an attic. The front facade has two windows, with a four-panel door positioned to the right of centre. There are two two-light casement windows on each floor. The original window openings are topped with brick flat arches, and there are half-dormer windows in the attic. A datestone built into the door jamb is inscribed "1750." A datestone on the rear wing reads "1798." Inside, an 18th-century fireplace with a moulded mantelpiece remains, along with contemporary cupboards and joinery. The building is included on the list for its group value.
