Description
Windmill Farmhouse and the attached outbuilding is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof, with brick end stacks on the right and a stone stack finished in brick on the left. The building is arranged in an L-plan with a rear wing and has two storeys plus an attic, presenting a symmetrical three-window façade.
The entrance is marked by an early 19th-century flat hood supported by scrolled wrought-iron brackets, leading to an early 19th-century six-panel door, two of which are glazed. The windows feature chamfered timber lintels and modern two-light casements, while the gabled roof dormers also have two-light casements with glazing bars. The rear wing has a stone-coped gable end, and the outbuilding at the back, which was formerly a stable, has two doorways flanking a window. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
