Description

Hill Farmhouse is a 18th-century farmhouse, now a house, located on the north side of Yarn ton, off Cassington Road. A datestone reading “DD/1731” is visible. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with a gabled stone slate roof and brick and stone stacks. It has a three-unit plan, with a gable and attic, and a five-window front. A plank door, set in a 18th-century beaded frame, is sheltered by a timber lintel and gabled stone slate hood, positioned to the right of the centre. There are timber lintels above two-light leaded casements to the right, and similar 20th-century casements elsewhere. Gabled dormers contain three-light casements. A 20th-century extension is located at the rear. The interior, which was not inspected, is said to feature an open fireplace and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
