Description

WROXTON SHUTFORD ROAD SP3941 (East side) Balscote 9/250 The Old Pound II House. Late C17 with later alterations. Coursed ironstone rubble. Steeply pitched C20-tile roof. Rendered stone ridge stacks with renewed brick shafts. 3-unit through-passage plan. 2 storeys. 3-window range. Approximately central entrance has gabled stone porch with chamfered, arched doorway. Panelled/glazed door. Entrance is flanked by renewed 3-light windows with chamfered wood lintels. First floor has 3 similar windows. Rear has a 3-light C18 wood casement and C20 windows. C20 single-storey extension. Interior is said to have an inglenook fireplace, chamfered beams and stone flag floors. Interior not inspected.
