Description
Cliffords Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a house, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed, squared ironstone and features a steeply pitched slate roof that is hipped on the left side. A stone ridge stack with a brick shaft is present. The building has a three-unit plan with a later addition to the rear, forming an L-shape, and consists of two storeys plus an attic.
The elevation facing the road has a three-window range. There is a blocked entrance on the right with a wooden lintel, and to the left, there is a slated bread oven projection that is rectangular in shape. Also to the left are renewed three- and four-light casements with wooden lintels. The first floor features renewed two- and three-light casements, most of which have original lintels.
At the rear, there is a two-storey gabled staircase projection that includes a small two-light wood mullioned window and a similar blocked window. The right gable has three-light renewed casements on both the ground and first floors, and a two-light window in the attic, all with wooden lintels. Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered beams. It is marked as Church Farmhouse on the Ordnance Survey map.
