Description
Heathcote Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the early to mid 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched slate roof. The ridge stacks are made of rendered stone with brick shafts. The building has a three-unit plan, is two storeys high, and has a two-window range. The entrance is located at the rear. The elevation facing the road includes a blocked doorway, two and three-light 20th-century casements with stop-chamfered wood lintels, and a bow window on the right, which was previously used as a shop. There are also two renewed two-light attic windows. The ironstone quoins are notable, and the interior features stop-chamfered beams and joists, an inglenook fireplace with a bressumer and a circular recess for a bread oven, as well as a straight flight stair with a winder.
