Description

The Old Rectory is an 18th-century rectory, later converted into a house, with an addition built in the 19th century. It is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble with a 20th-century tile roof and brick end stacks. The original building has a 2-unit plan, extended to form a double-depth plan, and a 3-window front. The approximately central entrance has a 4-panelled door, overlight, and a moulded wooden surround, sheltered by a trellis porch. Flanking the entrance are three 3-light casements with painted wooden lintels, and the first floor has three 3-light windows with metal casements and lead cames, also with painted wooden lintels, and wrought-iron casement fasteners. A 19th-century range to the rear extends to form an “M” shape with a gabled roof dormer. The interior was not inspected.
