Description
Gouthen's House is a mid-18th century building that was originally two cottages but is now a single house. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone and features a steeply pitched slate roof with a brick stack at one end. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall, plus an attic, with a two-window range on the front elevation. There are two blocked entrances with stone flat arches. The ground floor includes two- and three-light metal and wood casements set in wood frames, all with chamfered wood lintels. There is a door and window on the left end, and two 20th-century roof dormers. Most of the windows are fitted with wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs.
