Description
May Lodge is a mid-18th century building that originally comprised two cottages and is now a single house. It features coursed and squared ironstone with a thatched roof. The structure has a 20th-century brick plinth, gables with renewed copings, and two 20th-century brick gable stacks.
The house is two storeys high and consists of four bays in a single range. The front windows include three-light glazing bar casements, with the central lights reglazed, and sliding sashes with wooden lintels. On the street front, to the left, there is a casement window, and to the right, a sash window. Further to the right are two casements, one of which is set in a blocked doorway. Above these, there are four two-light sash windows.
The south gable features a single-storey gabled addition with a plain tile roof and a glazed corner porch. Above this addition, there is a two-light glazing bar casement window on the left. The rear of the building has mainly 20th-century glazing and a small lean-to addition on the left.
