Description
Rye Hill House is an early 18th-century house with mid-20th-century alterations, located on Church Way in Thorpe Malsor. The building is constructed from coursed and squared ironstone and features a Welsh slate roof. It has coped gables, spocketed eaves, and two gable and one ridge brick stacks. The house is two storeys high with garrets and has an L-plan layout with three bays.
The front windows are primarily three-light glazing bar casements, with wooden lintels on the first floor. The east front includes an off-centre 20th-century gabled porch that has a four-panelled door. To the left of the porch is a casement window, and to the right are two casements with keystoned flat heads, along with a small single casement that has a concrete lintel. Above these, there are three additional casements. To the right, there is a 20th-century single-storey lean-to addition featuring a two-light casement. The south gable has a two-light garret casement with a wooden lintel, and the rear of the house has an off-centre two-storey wing.
