Description

Three Chimneys is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid-18th century, with work carried out in 1955. It is constructed of coursed and squared ironstone with limestone dressings, and has shingled roofs. The building has a plinth, two coped gables with kneelers, and three gable and one ridge stone stack. It is two storeys high plus attics, with a main block of four bays and a single-bay service end. The windows are mainly 20th-century, 2-light leaded casements. The main block has an off-centre, gabled 20th-century porch and three casements on the ground floor. Above these are four casements, all with wooden lintels. Two 20th-century, flat-roofed dormers are visible in the roof. The lower service end has two casements on the ground floor and a single casement above. The west gable has a central 2-light casement on each floor and a single garret window. The rear of the building features an off-centre, single-storey, gabled 20th-century addition, with irregular window placement similar to the front.
