Description
The Old Manor House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century and was reroofed with additions made around 1950. The building is constructed of ironstone and features a concrete tile roof, with two brick gable stacks. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The structure is a single range with a central gabled rear stair turret and a lean-to addition from the 20th century at the back.
The front of the house includes a central mid-20th century glazed wooden porch that encloses a roll-moulded Tudor arched doorway. On either side of the porch, there are 20th century three-light casements with wooden lintels, set in altered openings. Above the porch, there is a central two-light casement flanked by single three-light casements, all also in altered openings. The rear of the house features entirely 20th century glazing.
Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam and a fireplace bressummer in the west end room. An oak winder stair with a framed newel leads to the upper floor, and there is a cupboard door made from 17th century panelling. Additionally, there are two other doors made from similar panelling, along with two 18th century two-panel doors and a small late 18th century hob grate.
