Description
Mawsley Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, built around 1840. It is constructed from coursed and squared ironstone rubble with limestone dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The building features a plinth, a first-floor band, coped gables with kneelers, and two brick gable stacks. It has two storeys plus garrets and is arranged in an L-plan with three bays. Most windows have keystoned lintels.
The front of the house has a central six-panel door with a fanlight and a plain round-headed doorcase inscribed 'Mawsley House'. On either side of the door are 8/12 sash windows. Above the door, there are three smaller 8/12 sashes. The east gable features a canted bay window to the left and a 20th-century central casement. Above this, there is a glazing bar sash to the left and a smaller central sash above. The west gable has a central round-headed stair light with a small glazing bar sash above it.
At the rear, there is a near-central six-panel door with a 19th-century casement to the left. Above this door, there are three 2-light 19th-century casements. All openings in the building have wooden lintels.
