Description
No. 93 Freehold Street is a cottage dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is built from limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features ashlar quoins, topped with a thatched roof and a brick gable stack. The cottage has a single-unit plan and stands two storeys tall. The symmetrical front has two windows on the first floor with two-light casements, and three deeper windows below, with the central window formerly serving as the doorway. A stack is located at the left gable, and there is a small single-storey addition from the 19th century on the right. The interior has not been inspected. This cottage is part of a group of similar thatched cottages at the upper end of Freehold Street, which includes Nos. 80, 86, and 105.
